Worms

I moved into Bennington with Holly almost a week ago. We have a real closet, with a real door, so the lighting set-up is currently stationed inside of there, where we can shut in the light.

There were a few problems with fruit flies and some other critters in the worm bin, along with the mites. The mite population has decreased since I dried the bedding; though I don't mind them so much anymore, as they are eating the dead worms. The fruit flies were attracted by all the banana peels in the compost, so I stopped adding fresh fruit and only composted tea and coffee. This seems to have fixed the problem.

We planted soybeans, which sprouted a few days ago and are already over 1" tall. Some leafy green (I forget which, we'll find out) was also planted, but did not sprout until today.

There was a large closing-down rummage sale at the on-campus childhood centre, which is moving into town. They had a stack of terracotta pots, so I took them! Hurray for free potting.
